In a dramatic turn of events, a wanted suspect in connection with a high-profile kidnapping investigation has voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Sofia. The information was officially confirmed by the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office to the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

The man, identified only by the initials D.V., appeared in person at the Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs (SDVR), where he was immediately detained. Following standard procedures, the suspect has been placed under a 72-hour arrest while the prosecution considers its next steps.

A spokesperson for the prosecution stated: "We are currently analyzing all available evidence and will decide whether to request the court to impose a stricter measure of restraint". This decision is expected to be made within the next few days.

The case is attracting significant public attention as D.V. is linked to a large-scale kidnapping investigation, in which the central figures are brothers Mitko and Radoslav Lebeshkovski. The two are already accused of kidnapping Ivaylo Petrov and Bozhidar Markov - a crime that shocked society and caused widespread media coverage.

Criminology experts comment that D.V.'s voluntary surrender could be a key moment in the investigation. "Such a move often means that the suspect is ready to cooperate with the authorities, which could potentially lead to new revelations in the case", shares a criminologist who wished to remain anonymous.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the investigation continues in full force. "We are working hard to clarify all circumstances surrounding these serious crimes. D.V.'s surrender is an important step, but the investigation is far from over", stated a high-ranking official of the ministry.

The case raises serious questions about the security of citizens and the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in combating organized crime. More clarity is expected in the coming days regarding D.V.'s role in the criminal scheme and his potential cooperation with investigating authorities.

We will continue to follow the development of this significant case and inform the public of any new revelations.
