The Municipality of Dobrich takes an extraordinary measure to support the local football club by providing free transportation for fans who wish to attend an important First League match. The initiative was personally announced by Mayor Yordan Yordanov through his official Facebook profile.
The football team "Dobrudzha 1919" will play against "Slavia" on July 28 (Monday) at 19:00 at the "Spartak" stadium in Varna. This will be the team's first home match in the new football season, which has generated significant interest among the local community.
In his official statement, Yordanov emphasized the emotional context surrounding the club's situation. He acknowledges the challenges faced by fans who want to support the team but do not have their own transportation to Varna.
A key point in the message is the organization of free bus transportation. To take advantage of this opportunity, supporters must register in advance at a special phone number published on the mayor's profile. The registration deadline is 12:00 on July 27.
The decision to hold the match in Varna is related to an official refusal by the Licensing Commission of the Bulgarian Football Union to accredit the home stadium "Druzhba" in Dobrich. The main reason is the lack of necessary lighting.
Yordanov expressed his disappointment with this decision, emphasizing that the stadium project has already been approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. According to him, funding has been secured, a contractor has been selected, and the necessary construction activities have begun.
This move by the municipality demonstrates support for the local football club and a desire to be sympathetic to the team's problems during a difficult time.
