During the Sixth World Conference of Parliament Chairs in Geneva, Bulgarian parliamentary leader Natalia Kiselova conducted extensive diplomatic communication with key international political figures.
In a primary conversation with Israeli parliamentary leader Amir Ohana, Kiselova emphasized the strategic importance of bilateral relations. She categorically stated that Israel is an extremely important partner for Bulgaria, not only in a regional but also in a global context.
Slovak Parliamentary Chairman Richard Rasi was another significant interlocutor. The two leaders demonstrated complete agreement regarding European values, committing to deepen parliamentary dialogue in the name of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law.
A meeting with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Theodoros Roussopoulos, allowed Kiselova to raise the issue of concluding the monitoring procedure against Bulgaria. She expressed optimism that the organization will make a positive decision in the short term.
The dialogue with the Albanian parliamentary leader Elisa Spyropali was particularly substantive, which emphasized Bulgarian support for the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union. Kiselova confirmed the national position of supporting countries seeking full membership.
The conference, jointly organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union, UN, and the Swiss Parliament, brought together representatives from over 100 countries. A special highlight was the speech by the UN Ambassador for Peace - Hollywood star Michael Douglas.
Before the official program, Kiselova held a working meeting with French Senator Loic Herve, chairman of the France-Bulgaria Friendship Group. They confirmed the excellent bilateral relations, based on mutual trust and understanding.
The diplomatic mission of the Bulgarian parliamentary leader demonstrated the active international position of our country in the complex geopolitical landscape.
