Unity in NATO as a strategic asset

During a working dinner within the framework of the 36th NATO Summit in Ankara, Bulgarian Minister of Defence Dimitar Stoyanov emphasized the need for unity and solidarity. According to him, these are the Alliance's strongest tools in the current security environment.

"Building a modern, integrated, and resilient industrial base is a strategic asset," stated Minister Stoyanov.

Transformation towards NATO 3.0

Stoyanov emphasized that Bulgaria has adopted an ambitious National Plan to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP by 2035. This will allow for the acquisition of high-tech capabilities in all domains – land, air, and maritime.

The Bulgarian delegation, led by President Rumen Radev, participated in discussions on strengthening defense potential and supporting Ukraine, alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the leaders of the other 31 member states.
