A Day of Tribute to the Feat of Hristo Botev
On June 2nd, the Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, expressed his deep gratitude for the work of the great poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev. In his address, he emphasized that Botev is a figure who transcends all boundaries – being both a man of words and a man of action.
"Botev is a personality who does not fit into a frame. A man of words and a man of struggle. A man who took the path of self-sacrifice because his love for the fatherland was stronger than anything else."
Botev's Testament to Future Generations
According to Dimitar Nikolov, June 2nd is not just a date on the calendar, but a day in which we rediscover the ideals that define us as a nation. The mayor emphasized the importance of several key aspects:
- An example to follow: Botev remains a benchmark for upholding national dignity.
- Duty to history: Passing on the testament to the younger generations as a moral foundation.
- Humility and gratitude: The need to bow our heads before the sacrifice of all those who gave their lives for our freedom.
"It is our duty to pass on his testament to the younger generations so that it may be their support in difficult moments," Nikolov stated firmly. The day concludes with a humble recognition of the memory of the heroes who spared nothing of themselves in the name of the holy cause.
