When will the children's hospital in Burgas open its doors?
The long-awaited opening of the first specialized children's hospital in Burgas is approaching. Despite concerns regarding decisions by the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Mayor Dimitar Nikolov reassured the public that the project is proceeding according to plan.
"The hospital is ready, the equipment has been purchased, and the team has been assembled. All that remains are the mandatory administrative procedures and the necessary signatures. Burgas will have its children's hospital and there is no turning back," the mayor stated categorically.
Administrative steps before completion
The mayor clarified that the current situation is related solely to formalities between institutions. At the moment, the following are expected:
- Official authorization from the Ministry of Health.
- Finalization of the procedure by the NHIF in accordance with legal requirements.
Dimitar Nikolov expressed confidence that the state will complete the process within the next few weeks, which will allow the medical facility to begin its operations and start admitting young patients.
