The caretaker government is allocating funding of 6.053 million euros for 2026 for the Ministry of Energy for the activity of the State Enterprise “Radioactive Waste” (SE RAW).

SE RAW can carry out activities and conclude transactions only in connection with the implementation of its subject of activity. The enterprise cannot participate in commercial or civil companies and does not have the right to conclude loan agreements with commercial banks or other financial institutions, unless there is an explicit decision of the Council of Ministers. The activities of SE RAW are financed by the “Radioactive Waste” and “Decommissioning of Nuclear Facilities” funds to the Minister of Energy. The funds are earmarked, created to guarantee the implementation of specific long-term activities related to the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and the management of radioactive waste.

The funds to cover the expenses of the two funds are provided annually in the state budget, according to the budget of the Ministry of Energy, specifies the government information service.
