Burgas Free University "Prof. Asen Zlatarov" will participate in the second phase of the MIRACle project "Mechatronics, Innovation, Robotics, Automation, Clean Technologies", the higher education institution in the sea town announced.
In the first part of the project, equipped laboratories were created, developing high-tech solutions, utility models, and patents. Agreements have been signed with companies and contracts with various organizations for the application of innovative developments. For the second phase, a "Center of Competence in Mechatronics and Clean Technologies - MIRACle" has been established, whose mission is to support the development of business and science through scientific and applied research in the field of mechatronics, microelectronics, and clean technologies.
At the current stage, MIRACle envisages innovative research in mechatronics, robotics, biomechatronics and intelligent systems, as well as the construction of a sustainable management structure through the establishment of a non-profit legal entity. Emphasis is placed on the creation of effective mechanisms for partnerships with industry.
By 2029, the implementation of a minimum of 20 joint projects with businesses and participation in national and European programs is expected. The total funding amounts to over 9.3 million leva.
The initiative is funded under the Program for Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Intelligent Transformation. The leading partner and coordinator is the Institute of Mechanics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
