Burgas students from "Alexander Georgiev-Kojakafaliyata" Primary School and the Professional High School of Computer Programming and Innovation performed brilliantly at the International Robotics Olympiad (IRO 2025) in Gold Coast, Australia. The competition took place between December 17 and 22, with over 2000 students from 15 countries participating.
The team from "Alexander Georgiev-Kojakafaliyata" Primary School achieved impressive results. Lachezar Georgiev (5th grade) and Toma Tomov (6th grade) won a silver medal in the Creative Movie Junior category. Anislava Kasarova (7th grade) and Veselina Apostolova (6th grade) received the Technical Award in the Creative Idea Junior category for high-tech performance. The team's mentors were Mrs. Greta Stoyanova and Mrs. Tanya Srebreeva.
The Professional High School of Computer Programming and Innovation – Burgas, also performed excellently. Dimaya Noneva and Zhaklin Yankova won the Technical Award in the Creative Movie – Senior category, demonstrating creativity and technical preparation. Their mentor was Kaloyan Totev.
The participation and successes of the Burgas teams highlight the high level of STEM education in the city and the support from the "Burgas Children" program.
