The supervising prosecutor has issued an order to revoke the accused's driver's license. It is expected that the prosecutor's office will submit a request to the court for imposing a "detention" measure.
The incident led to the temporary closure of the Burgas - Sunny Beach road for inspection. According to information from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Burgas, the accident occurred late in the evening of August 12 at the roundabout for Aheloy. A car overtook and hit a moving moped with a man and a woman. The woman died on the spot, and the man was hospitalized with a craniocerebral trauma.
This case underscores the importance of following traffic rules and responsible behavior of drivers. It also raises questions about the safety of more vulnerable road users, such as two-wheeled vehicle drivers and pedestrians, especially during the dark hours of the day.
The prosecutor's office continues to investigate the case, with additional details expected during the court proceedings. The incident is another reminder of the need for increased attention and responsibility on the road, as well as the severe consequences that can occur when traffic rules are violated.
