This year, "Burgasbus" EOOD, with the support of Burgas Municipality, continued to invest to expand and improve the offered transport service. The introduction of a new option for passengers is already underway - validation via debit and credit bank cards on board the bus. The service will be operational from December 8, Monday. All vehicles serving the city transport scheme in Burgas are equipped with readers that validate the journey if the passenger brings their contactless bank card close to them in the same way as is currently done with the plastic cards issued by "Burgasbus" EOOD or the QR code generated on the screen of a smartphone. The passenger can also use another smart device - a phone or watch. The readers are located in the validators opposite the second door of the bus. Validation with bank cards is analogous to the single ticket that each passenger can purchase on board the bus. The price of a single trip, paid with a bank card, is BGN 1.50 / EUR 0.77. The validation of the citizen's trip is automatic at the time of purchase. The checking of the passenger's regularity is carried out with newly introduced control devices of conductors and inspectors. The passenger validation system with bank cards fully meets the requirements for the protection of the data of their holders. Note: After 01.01.2026, the price of a single trip with a bank card will be EUR 0.80 / BGN 1.56.
