On October 24, Burgas becomes the main stage for international dialogue and cooperation with the opening of the forum "Black Sea 2030" in the Congress Center. The event is organized by Burgas Municipality, in partnership with the "ProspectiM" Association, and is supported by the scientific community, the marine business and the non-governmental sector. The aim is to create a platform for visionary ideas and the exchange of good practices in sustainable development and the blue economy.
The forum will bring together representatives of European institutions, national authorities, academia, business and non-governmental organizations from the entire Black Sea region. The highlights fall on topics such as the green transition, preservation of the marine and coastal environment, digitalization and innovation in the blue economy. Lectures, discussions and practical workshops will facilitate the exchange of experience between leading specialists, local and foreign organizations.
Among the leading topics are: sustainable urban development, the future of the Black Sea municipalities, dealing with the lag in infrastructure construction, smart cities, environmental policies and the promotion of public-private partnerships. The discussions will also focus on the balance between growth and environmental protection, overcoming challenges to the marine business, reducing administrative barriers, waste management and the introduction of innovative models for circular economy.
Key participants and lecturers are ministers from different departments, regional governors, rectors, representatives of the European Commission, business leaders, coordinators of international scientific and technological projects, as well as prominent professors from Bulgaria and Europe.
Within the framework of the event, international partnerships, innovations for fisheries and aquaculture, digital solutions for environmental monitoring and low-carbon development projects will be presented. Strategies for the sustainable management of biodiversity and the coastline, as well as support for start-up companies and young innovators in the region, will also be discussed.
