Large-scale festive procession in Burgas
On May 24, Burgas will celebrate the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius with an impressive procession. It begins at 10:30 a.m., with over 10,500 students, teachers, and cultural figures marching along the central streets "Aleksandrovska" and "Bogoridi" to reach the Sea Garden.
The procession will be led by an icon and a portrait of the holy brothers with the inscription "Walk, O Reborn People," followed by students carrying the letters of the Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabets.
Temporary traffic organization
For the safety of the participants, traffic will be stopped along the main intersections of "Bogoridi" Street and "Bulair" Boulevard from 09:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Municipality urges citizens to plan their travel in advance.
Cultural program for the festive week
The celebration in Burgas is not limited to just one day. A number of events will take place throughout the week:
- May 24: "Word" exhibition at the "Sea Casino" Cultural Center and the "Young Artist of the Year" award ceremony.
- May 26 - 29: XX International Literary Festival "Holy Word" with the participation of authors from over 10 countries.
- May 27: "The Poet's Hour" on the island of "St. Anastasia".
