Solemn ceremony in Burgas
The official ceremony for presenting the annual art and culture awards of the Municipality of Burgas for 2026 took place at the Congress Center of the Port of Burgas. The event brought together the elite of the local cultural community, representatives of the authorities, and the clergy.
"With this celebration, the Municipality of Burgas testifies its respect for the figures of spirituality who make our city recognizable on the map of Europe and the world," shared Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.
Distinguished creators and institutions
The awards were distributed in categories covering various spheres of art – from music and literature to folklore and fine arts. Among those awarded are:
- Community centers (Chitalishta): "FAR 1946", "Izgrev 1909", "Preobrazhenie – 2017", "Asen Zlatarov 1940", and "Lyuben Karavelov 1940".
- Music and dance: Folklore Ensemble "Atanas Manchev", "Burgas Voices", State Opera – Burgas (Maestro Ivan Kozhuharov, Marina Zmeeva-Markova), dance school "Dune".
- Theater and literature: "Adriana Budevska" Drama Theater (Nikolay Stoimenov), Diana Fartunova, "Znatsi" publishing house.
- Library and archival work: "Peyo K. Yavorov" Regional Library, Regional State Archives – Burgas.
- Visual arts: "Petko Zadgorski" Burgas Art Gallery, Vasil Stefanov (photography), Elisaveta Angelova (artist).
The awards highlight the significant contribution of Burgas creators to the preservation of the Bulgarian spirit and the development of the seaside city's cultural calendar.
