The bridge on the central beach in Burgas shone red in a sign of care for the heart

Burgas joined the global observance of World Heart Day this evening. The bridge on the central beach was illuminated in red, a symbol of the united efforts in the fight against cardiovascular diseases, which remain one of the main causes of mortality worldwide.

The initiative, which aims to raise public awareness of these diseases and the need for prevention and a healthy lifestyle, was organized by the press center of the Municipality. Seeing the reflection of the red color in the dark waters, one can feel the depth of the symbolism. The color symbolizes care for this vital organ.

The lighting of the bridge is part of the global campaign, which is organized by the World Heart Federation and is supported by many health institutions in the country. This campaign is held every year on September 29.

Earlier today, at the same place, a health campaign was held under the slogan "With love for my heart!" During the event, citizens and guests of the city had the opportunity to take advantage of free health consultations. Measurements of arterial pressure and blood sugar, as well as analysis of body fat, were performed on the spot. With the help of a special analyzer, the participants in the initiative could determine the ratio of fats in their body, body mass index and kilocalories. Long queues had formed in front of the tents, a testament to the high public engagement.
