Budget 2026: GERB prepares a complaint to the Constitutional Court
The 2026 budget is unconstitutional. This was stated by GERB leader Boyko Borisov during his visit to Varna. According to him, the country is in a state of governance failure that encompasses almost all sectors, with a focus on the critical condition of tourism.
"The government is failing in every area, and the budget is proof of that," Borisov emphasized.
Main parameters of the adopted budget:
- Deficit: A budget deficit of 5.7% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has been set.
- Minimum wage: Freezing of the minimum wage at the level of 620.20 euros.
- Public debt: The possibility of taking on new debt of up to 10.1 billion euros is provided.
Parliament finally adopted the financial framework on Friday, despite sharp criticism from the opposition regarding the sustainability of public finances.
