The BG-Alert national emergency messaging system continues its large-scale deployment among state institutions, with 197 competent authorities already having acquired access rights. Official information was announced by Minister of Internal Affairs Daniel Mitov in response to a parliamentary inquiry from Member of Parliament Lyuben Ivanov.
The large-scale training program covers a total of 266 employees from various levels of state administration. Among the trained personnel are 28 regional governors, 29 deputy regional governors, 25 employees from regional administrations, 174 representatives of municipal administrations, and ten experts from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.
In May, Minister Mitov initiated the creation of an interdepartmental working group that brings together representatives from key ministries - electronic governance, energy, agriculture and food, economy and industry. The group also includes the Executive Agency for Hail Suppression and the National Association of Municipalities in Bulgaria.
The main objectives of the working group include detailed development of a Plan for system use. Specific measures include improving public information during extreme meteorological events, identifying institutional monitoring and forecasting systems, as well as optimizing early warning coordination mechanisms.
