A series of free medical screenings for first-grade students will be held in the town of Pomorie, the local administration announced. The initiative, which aims to assess the health status of the youngest students, will take place from September 18 to October 10, 2025.
The campaign is being conducted in accordance with Resolution No. 528 of June 26, 2025, of the Municipal Council of Pomorie. This highlights the local government"s commitment to the health and well-being of the younger generation.
To ensure maximum coverage, the screenings will be carried out at two of the main educational institutions in the town – OCU "Hristo Botev" and SU "Ivan Vazov". Parents and their children will be welcomed in a familiar and calm school environment, which is expected to facilitate the screening process.
The medical specialists who will participate in the campaign are highly qualified doctors from the region. Dental examinations will be performed by Dr. Stamatov from Pomorie. Dr. Chervenov from MC "Oksikom" in the neighboring city of Burgas has been engaged for eye examinations, providing access to specialized assistance from outside the municipality. Orthopedic consultations will be conducted by Dr. Zabbarov from MC 1 in Pomorie.
After the screening campaign is completed, all collected data will be analyzed in a detailed report on the overall health status of the students who underwent the screenings. This analysis will serve as a valuable resource for future health policies and preventive measures aimed at improving the health of children in Pomorie. The initiative is an important step towards the early detection of potential health problems, which can have a long-term positive impact on children"s development and education.
