At the initiative of Rotary Club – Nessebar and in partnership with MC "Dr. Staykovi", with the support of Nessebar Municipality, free prophylactic examinations for spinal curvatures were conducted for the fifth-grade students of "Lyuben Karavelov" Secondary School – Nessebar. A total of 109 children underwent the examinations.
In nearly 48 of them, a mild form of scoliosis was found, and only one child was diagnosed with a more serious condition requiring treatment. Doctors emphasize that in most cases, there is no cause for concern if timely preventive measures are taken.
A positive trend is also the fact that there are almost no overweight children, and a large portion of the students are actively involved in sports.
Parents received the results of the examinations electronically, which facilitates subsequent actions if necessary. Nessebar Municipality supports initiatives aimed at prevention and care for children's health and notes increased interest from parents in such campaigns.
