The Bulgarian Red Cross - Nessebar reported on its activities for the past year 2025 during its annual meeting, which was held at the Demonstration Center of Crafts in the New Town. Achievements and planned future activities of the local Red Cross members were discussed at the meeting. Among those present at the meeting was Violeta Radeva, the long-time director of the Bulgarian Red Cross - Burgas, who pointed out that the Nessebar structure is a leading organization at the national level with dedicated and devoted volunteers who meet with the strong support of the citizens of Nessebar and the municipal administration.
Violeta Georgieva, an active representative of the structure in the seaside town, pointed out that among the upcoming activities is the distribution of the traditional Christmas and New Year food packages, which are intended for about 90 people living alone, sick, socially weak or people and families in difficult financial situations. The aid is provided by the Municipality of Nessebar and the Bulgarian Red Cross - Nessebar. And the funds from the charity bazaar of the Community Center "Yana Laskova" and from the charity concert of the kindergartens "Yana Laskova", "Kalina Malina" and "Moryache" will be directed to families in need with children.
It was pointed out at the meeting that throughout the year the Red Cross members organize various initiatives and respond to the needs of social institutions in the country, including the Home for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities in Rusokastro. One of the actions, implemented in recent months, is to provide assistance to people from the resort "Elenite", who were affected by the disaster of October this year. The Red Cross members from Nessebar and Sveti Vlas provide warm clothes, blankets, shoes, food products, as well as emotional support.
During the reporting session of the Bulgarian Red Cross - Nessebar, active representatives of the local structure were awarded certificates for active, selfless and devoted activity during the year. Students from "Lyuben Karavelov" Secondary School, representatives of the BRC-Nessebar, who congratulated the volunteers with words carrying hope and faith for a good future, also attended the meeting.
The organization of the Red Cross members is well known in Nessebar and is a support for all poor and unemployed citizens from the entire municipality. People in need know that they can find clothes for themselves and their children with the volunteers. The Bulgarian Red Cross - Nessebar has been among the leading partners in the social policy of the municipality for years.
