A prestigious international meeting of youth political activists was held in the Stara Zagora regional center, where representatives of the left wing from across the Balkan Peninsula discussed strategic directions for future political development.
The forum "Creating the Future of Social Democracy in the Balkans" was organized by the Youth Union of the Bulgarian Socialist Party as part of the four-day Balkan Round Table of the Socialist Youth International (IUSY).
During the official opening, the Chairperson of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova emphasized the exceptional importance of regional unity. In her introductory speech, she focused on the need to look towards the future, regardless of the complex historical memory of the Balkans.
Vice Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov complemented the message by highlighting that common interests are much stronger than the differences between individual countries. He called on young political activists to develop dialogue and mutual understanding.
The large-scale meeting was attended by youth leaders from a total of 11 countries, who shared visions for regional convergence. The Chairman of the Youth Union of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Gabriel Valkov, categorically stated that unity could transform the Balkan region into a significant geopolitical force.
