Bulgarian Posts resumes accepting letters to the USA, suspends shipments to Canada

Sofia - From today, residents of Bulgaria can once again send letters and documents to the United States of America, announced the press center of the state-owned company "Bulgarian Posts".

At the same time, however, a temporary ban is introduced on accepting shipments to Canada.

The decision to restore the service to the USA applies only to shipments without commercial content – letters, documents and postcards. For all who plan to send shipments, the company emphasizes the need to regularly monitor the official website for up-to-date information regarding the acceptance of shipments to American territory. "Bulgarian Posts" were forced to suspend the acceptance of all shipments to the USA from August 26. This was necessary due to upcoming changes in the customs processing of shipments, planned by the American administration.

In parallel with this, from October 1, the acceptance of all types of shipments to Canada is temporarily suspended. The reason for this measure is the national strike, announced by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, which began on September 25, 2025. Due to the strike actions, the processing and delivery of shipments to Canada have been temporarily suspended, specify "Bulgarian Posts".

The state-owned company assured that it will provide timely information on the resumption of services. Up-to-date information on the matter will be published on the official website of "Bulgarian Posts".
