Bulgarian presence in the security of Paris
Senior police officer Georgi Karageorgiev from the Zonal Gendarmerie Directorate in Burgas was selected to represent Bulgaria in an international police mission in France. Over the course of three weeks, he will be part of a team responsible for public order in the tourist areas of Paris.
The joint mission is part of a cooperation program between European police forces aimed at increasing security in major cities.
The Bulgarian officer will work side by side with colleagues from:
- Cyprus
- Switzerland
- Portugal
- Italy
Operational details:
The team will perform scheduled duties under the operational command of the Directorate of Public Security of the Paris Agglomeration (DSPAP). This is the latest step in strengthening international cooperation, following the assistance provided by Bulgarian police officers and service dogs for security during the Paris Olympic Games earlier in 2024.
