The prestigious Italian basketball club Batipaglia has officially announced the signing of talented Bulgarian athlete Yuliana Valcheva for the upcoming competitive season. The twenty-six-year-old player, born in Sofia, will strengthen the team as a power forward/center.
In an emotional message on the social platform Instagram, the club emphasized the significance of this addition. "Welcome to Italy" - representatives of Batipaglia were adamant, noting the athlete's rich international experience.
Valcheva has a remarkable competitive biography, including participation in various age national teams - under 16, 18, and 20 years, as well as in the main women's national team of Bulgaria. Before the current contract, she was part of the championship squad of Montana 2003.
In her professional career, the basketball player has defended the colors of teams such as Cherno More Odesos and the American university team Incarnate Ward. Her statistics from the past season show an average of 6.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in all matches played.
The new contract with the Italian club appears to be a significant step forward in the young Bulgarian basketball player's sports career.
