With the introduction of the single currency – the euro, Bulgaria completes its full integration into the EU. This message was sent by Tsvetan Simeonov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), during today's meeting of the Euroclub at the Chamber, dedicated to the end of the Danish Presidency and the beginning of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, which together with Poland form the so-called “troika” presiding countries of the Council.
“The aim of the Euroclub at BCCI is to maintain public opinion at a high level, in favor of Bulgaria's European integration,” recalled Simeonov and assured those present that the Chamber stands firmly behind European integration. According to him, the EU is a project that has proven its sustainability over the years.
In his address, the chairman of BCCI called on all EU member states to take care of the development of the Community so that the Union becomes the most attractive place for investment in the world.
Among the guests of today's Euroclub meeting were Doncho Barbalov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry in resignation, and representatives of the diplomatic corps in Bulgaria.
After the end of the event, BCCI also presented its annual awards. In them, the Chamber distinguishes an ambassador, a trade representative of a foreign country in Bulgaria, a media and a journalist.
