The Energy Architecture of the Future: Balance and Security
During the 20th anniversary edition of the Dubrovnik Forum, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva emphasized that the European energy architecture must be technologically neutral. According to her, sustainability is achieved by combining nuclear energy with renewable sources, storage systems, and reliable gas infrastructure.
"Bulgaria views nuclear energy as a key element of the national energy mix, which does not compete with but complements renewable sources," noted Tasheva.
Key priorities for regional connectivity:
- Vertical Gas Corridor: A strategic project for supply diversification in cooperation with Romania, Greece, Ukraine, and Moldova.
- Black Sea Region: Strengthening energy security and maritime stability.
- Business Adaptation: Investments in energy efficiency and innovative technologies in response to the global crises after 2022.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted the importance of Bulgaria's membership in the EU, Schengen, and the Eurozone, as well as the upcoming accession to the OECD, which create a favorable environment for investment and economic growth.
