Bulgaria Among Leading Destinations for Ukrainian Exports with ECA Support

Bulgaria shares third place in the import of Ukrainian goods in January-February 2026, supported by the Export Credit Agency of Ukraine (ECA). Germany leads. The largest share of exports consists of furniture.

Bulgaria is among the main destinations for Ukrainian non-raw material exports supported by the Export Credit Agency of Ukraine (ECA) in January and February 2026, with our country sharing third place with Denmark, Hungary, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden, with imports worth 576.48 million hryvnias, according to data from the agency, cited by Ukrinform.

Germany is the leading foreign market for Ukrainian goods during the period under review, with imports of 1.09 billion hryvnias, followed by Poland with 663.17 million hryvnias.

In total, during the first two months of the year, the Export Credit Agency of Ukraine supported the export of non-raw materials worth 5.9 billion hryvnias by insuring 11 loans and participating in 17 export deals for 16 Ukrainian companies.

According to the institution's data, each commitment worth 1 hryvnia generated future export revenues of 31.6 hryvnias, which underlines the significant multiplying effect of export credit instruments.

The largest share of supported exports was realized by enterprises in the Khmelnytska region - 4.6 billion hryvnias, followed by the Lviv region with 501.9 million hryvnias and the Chernihiv region with 324.9 million hryvnias.

By product categories, the largest share is the export of furniture and related products - 4.61 billion hryvnias, followed by printed materials and periodicals (501.88 million hryvnias), products made of ferrous metals (424.56 million hryvnias), paper and cardboard (173.86 million hryvnias), as well as boilers, machinery, and mechanical equipment (51.01 million hryvnias).

In 2025, the Export Credit Agency of Ukraine increased its insurance support for the export of non-raw materials to 10.43 billion hryvnias.
