The Bulgarian government has made a strategic decision to present national stands at two key international trade events to be held in Germany in 2026. The first of these is the specialized organic food exhibition "BIOFACH", which will take place from February 10 to 13 in the city of Nuremberg.
Experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food view the participation as an extremely important opportunity to promote Bulgarian organic production. The forum is defined as one of the most authoritative in the world, providing a unique chance for local producers to present themselves to the international business community.
The strategic goal of participation includes creating new trade contacts, expanding market opportunities, and establishing Bulgarian organic products on a global scale. The Ministry emphasizes that organic farming is a priority sector that directly contributes to improving nutrition standards, environmental protection, and preserving biological diversity.
Parallel to the organic food exhibition, Bulgaria will also participate in the international forum "Prowein" - the world's leading specialized exhibition for wine and spirits. The event will be held from March 15 to 17, 2026, in the city of Düsseldorf.
Statistics from previous years show exceptional interest in such international events. In 2025, "Prowein" attracted around 4,200 participants from 65 countries, including leading producers from Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and other countries.
For Bulgarian wine producers, the participation represents a logical continuation of national presentations from 2024 and 2025, when 26 and 33 Bulgarian companies successfully promoted their products, respectively.
Financing for both participations will be provided from the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, with part of the expenses to be covered through state aid for participation in international exhibitions.
