The euro is not just a monetary unit, but a strategic choice, key to solidifying Bulgaria's place in a united and strong Europe. This was emphasized by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during the high-level conference titled "Bulgaria on the Threshold of the Eurozone". The event, organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Bulgarian National Bank, was held at the "Boyana" residence. The atmosphere at the venue was filled with anticipation and readiness for the upcoming changes.

The forum is an important part of the large-scale communication campaign, which aims to inform the public about the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria from January 1, 2026. In the hall where the conference was held, representatives of various institutions, experts, and media were present.

"Our goal is not accession, our goal is to be part of the Eurozone," the Prime Minister stated categorically. According to him, this means full participation in the European economic architecture, which will open up new opportunities for the country.

Today, Bulgaria stands on the threshold of an important moment in its history, Zhelyazkov noted. From January 1, Bulgaria will become part of the large family of countries that have adopted the euro as their currency, and not as something foreign. This step unites over 340 million citizens in more than 20 European countries, the Prime Minister emphasized, outlining the prospects for the country.
