In view of the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on Bulgarian citizens to refrain from travel to Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, unless absolutely necessary. It is also recommended that those already in these countries consider leaving in a timely manner, unless their stay there is absolutely essential.

Bulgarian citizens traveling or temporarily or permanently residing in the above-mentioned countries are encouraged to register with the respective diplomatic representation of the Republic of Bulgaria, providing personal contact information. This will facilitate the provision of prompt and adequate assistance by the diplomatic services in case of urgent need.
