For over 10 years, the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation has been celebrating Atanasov Day at Lake Atanasovo, attracting the attention of citizens with various activities such as half marathons, lectures, cinema, songs, animations, walks and quizzes.
This year, despite the forecasts for cold weather, the event will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 11:00 am in front of the Birdwatching Hide. You will be able to find out what birds inhabit the salt lake during the winter. Hot tea and coffee are provided, as well as a walk along the Avocet Trail, accompanied by interesting stories about the namesake.
Interact Club Burgas - Pyrgos, whose project “Let's Revive the Avocet Trail” successfully renovated the gazebo in front of the Hide, will donate 4 Bresser 7x50 binoculars for birdwatching.
The event starts at 11:00 am on 01/18/2026 (Sunday) in front of the Birdwatching Hide.
