Outgoing Defense Minister Atanas Zaprjanov will participate in the meeting of defense ministers of NATO member countries in Brussels, Belgium, the press center of the ministry announced.

The NATO forum will provide an opportunity to discuss the implementation of the most important decisions related to the Alliance's defense and deterrence potential, taken at the Hague Summit in July 2025.

Within the framework of the meeting, a number of key issues from the NATO agenda will be considered, such as the fulfillment of the adopted commitments to increase defense spending, long-term political and practical support for Ukraine, the implementation of a more proactive approach to deterrence and defense.

Days ago, Reuters reported, citing five of its sources, that the "Arctic Sentry" mission could be announced during the meeting of the alliance's defense ministers. The mission's goal is to strengthen surveillance and military presence in the Arctic against the backdrop of tensions between US President Donald Trump and European allies on the issue of Greenland.
