Deputy Prime Minister in resignation Atanas Zafirov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese corporation Shandong Hi-Speed Group, Wang Qifeng. The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of infrastructure projects, trade, and logistics.
Zafirov emphasized the importance of the events of the past year, such as the Bulgarian-Chinese business forum and the conference on regional cooperation, for strengthening the ties between the two countries. He noted the dynamics in bilateral relations at the political level and expressed hope that this will have a positive impact on the economic front as well.
Zafirov stressed that infrastructure is the area with the greatest potential for cooperation, drawing attention to the logistical possibilities of the port of Burgas and the potential for export of Bulgarian goods, especially agricultural products, to China.
Wang Qifeng presented the company's capabilities and expressed hope for future cooperation with Bulgarian companies. Last November, 17 cooperation agreements were signed between representatives of organizations from the two countries.
