The Mayor of Sozopol, Tihomir Yanakiev, started the second edition of the Antea Run 2026 obstacle half marathon, in which over 200 competitors from the country and abroad are participating.
This year's course is over 20 kilometers long and is considered the toughest so far, passing through diverse terrains - wild areas, rocky sections and coastal zones in the areas of Zlatna Ribka campsite and the village of Ravadinovo. It includes various, surprising obstacles.
Participants from Morocco, Great Britain and Belgium are also taking part in the race.
This is a sporting event with benefits for the city, both social and economic. I think it's a good warm-up for the active summer season, Yanakiev said.
The finish is scheduled at the Apollonia amphitheater this afternoon. For the first time in the marathon, an alternative distance of 10 kilometers without obstacles has been included, designed for amateurs. Among the favorites for the top prizes are Petar Draganov, Hristo Ivanov and Petar Hristov.
Special guests of the event are Stoyko Sakaliev and Milen Georgiev, and the host is Deyan Slavchev - Deo, who is also participating as a competitor.
Temporary traffic organization has been introduced on part of the municipal roads for the safety of participants and spectators.
