Bulgarian sailor Alexandra Lukoyanova won gold in the ILCA 6 class at the international regatta in Vilamoura, Portugal. The competition brought together nearly 400 athletes from 18 countries. This is the first regatta of the season and a strong statement for the upcoming starts.

Bulgarian athlete Alexandra Lukoyanova from Yacht Club Chernomorets Burgas won first place in the ILCA 6 Olympic class at the 52nd international regatta in Vilamoura, Portugal. The event, part of the International Carnival Sailing Tournament, concluded in difficult ocean conditions with winds up to 20 knots.

The regatta brought together nearly 400 competitors from 18 countries, including Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Hong Kong, Finland, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Sweden, and Spain. In the strong international competition, Lukoyanova dominated and won first place not only among women but also in the general classification.

This is the first regatta of the season for Lukoyanova, who showed excellent form. The victory is a strong statement for the upcoming international starts and confirmation of her stability and growth on the international stage. The coaching team is working purposefully to achieve high results in the European and World Championships this season.

With this success, Bulgaria records a prestigious international victory in one of the Olympic sailing classes and confirms its presence among the leading nations in ILCA 6.
