Aleksandra Lukoyanova, a sailor from the Chernomorets Burgas Yacht Club, achieved an impressive success after winning the first regatta of the European EuroILCA Cup series.
The competition took place in Portimao, Portugal, and gathered strong international competition in the Olympic sailing class ILCA 6.
89 competitors participated in the regatta, including a number of established names from the European and world elite. Despite the serious competition, Lukoyanova showed excellent form and a stable performance in all races, which brought her a convincing victory and first place in the general classification for women.
This is another significant international success for the Bulgarian sailor and her second major victory since the beginning of the year. Earlier in the season, she also won a regatta in Vilamoura, Portugal – a result that once again confirms her excellent sporting form.
These strong performances give a serious assessment of Lukoyanova's preparation and are a promising sign for the upcoming competitions during the season. They are also an important part of her long-term goal – a strong performance on the international stage and the pursuit of an Olympic quota for Bulgaria.
