The fight against pests in agriculture in the Black Sea Basin is key to the AGRICOOP project. Financed by the Interreg NEXT “Black Sea Basin” Programme, the project aims for sustainable agriculture. The total budget is 506,548 euros, with organizations from Turkey, Georgia, and Bulgaria (Agency for Economic Development-Varna) participating. The leading partner is the Trabzon Commodity Exchange (Turkey).

AGRICOOP seeks solutions for climate change and invasive species affecting agricultural production. Stations will be placed in pilot areas to identify affected crops and personalize methods of control. A mobile application (MAPPEST) will be developed for pest detection.

The project emphasizes training farmers and stakeholders to adapt to climate change and use digital tools. AGRICOOP aims for a long-term partnership and sustainable development of agriculture in the region. The project starts on 12/24/2025 and will run until 08/23/2027.
