59 Fires Extinguished in 24 Hours in Bulgaria

Fire service teams responded to 96 calls, with no casualties or injuries.

A total of 59 fires were extinguished in the country during the past 24 hours, and fire department teams responded to 96 incident reports, the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" reports on its website. There were no fatalities or injuries in the fires.

24 fires caused direct material damage, of which 12 were in residential buildings, three in auxiliary, temporary or makeshift buildings, and six in vehicles. 

35 fires occurred without material damage, including one in dry grass, forest litter and shrubs, 19 in waste, 14 in cooking appliances and chimneys. 

31 rescue operations and auxiliary operations were carried out, including two in vehicle accidents. 

Six false alarms were registered.
