A reporting camp for the 34th Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition is being held in Aheloy. Scientists are presenting achievements in medicine, biology, and logistics on Livingston Island.

Reporting forum of the Bulgarian polar explorers

Today, the official reporting camp of the 34th Bulgarian Antarctic expedition is being held in Aheloy. The event, organized by the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute (BAI), was opened by Prof. Christo Pimpirev.

"The forum is key for presenting Bulgaria's scientific contribution and logistical successes on the Ice Continent," the organizers share.

Main highlights in the program:

Among the topics of the discussions are the adaptation of the human body to extreme conditions, research on biodiversity in the Southern Ocean, studies on microplastics, and monitoring of the ionosphere. The event is attended by leading scientists from the BAS, Sofia University, and the Director General of BTA, Kiril Valchev.
