Shortly after midnight, a police patrol in Varna pursued an unlicensed 19-year-old driver in the city center. The young man had driven his car through a red light at a central intersection. The police officers noticed him and followed him with their siren and lights activated.
The driver did not obey the police orders and a chase began. Other police teams joined the pursuit. In the “Maksuda” area, the young man crashed his car, and the car fell into the ravine.
The driver and his passengers were uninjured. During the check, it was established that the young man did not have a driver's license. He refused to be tested for narcotics, and the breathalyzer showed 0.79 per mille.
He has been detained for 24 hours.
