An eighteen-year-old girl from Petrich was arrested by law enforcement officers in Kiten on charges of drug trafficking, police confirmed. The operation, conducted by officers of the Primorsko District Police Department, uncovered illegal activity in an apartment inhabited by the young woman.
Details of the arrest
The arrest was made on August 19 at around 9:15 a.m., after police officers conducted a routine check at an address on "Vazrazhdane" Street. During the search, a white crystalline substance, identified as amphetamine, was found and seized in the apartment inhabited by the eighteen-year-old woman. The total amount of the drug was about 12 grams.
In addition to the amphetamine, police also found and seized numerous empty plastic bags, which are often used to package and prepare narcotic substances for sale. The presence of these items supports the charge that this is a case of distribution, not just possession of drugs.
The young woman from Petrich was detained for up to 24 hours in police custody. A fast-track proceeding has been initiated in the case, which is a procedure applied in clear-cut crimes and allows for the quick handover of the case to the prosecutor's office.
