Successful conclusion for the seventh cohort of the "Training for IT Skills and Career" program
A record-breaking 152 students graduated with excellent marks from the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) program "Training for IT Skills and Career." A total of 255 young people graduated this year, with 23 of them achieving a perfect score of 6.00.
"Today, we cannot do anything without data processing – neither in the field of technology, nor in new materials, nor in biomedical engineering," noted Deputy Minister of Education Prof. Senya Terzieva-Zhelyazkova.
The program, which launched in 2017, provides students with the opportunity to study programming outside of their regular classes – on weekends and during holidays. To date, over 7,300 students have participated in the training.
Key aspects of the training:
- Partnership between the IT business, higher education institutions, and vocational high schools.
- Training in five centers: Sofia, Pravets, Ruse, Plovdiv, and Burgas.
- Acquisition of an "Application Programmer" qualification in parallel with primary education.
- Secured additional funding of over 250,000 euros for the coming school terms.
Graduates of the program often choose a career path in the IT sector, combining higher education with work in technology companies.
