123 Years of History and Innovation at Port Burgas
On May 18, 2024, Port Burgas EAD celebrated its 123rd anniversary. From its official opening in 1903 to the present day, the port has come a long way, transforming from an ambitious state project into a key transport and logistics hub on the Black Sea.
"The true strength of any port is not just the quays and cranes, but the people behind them," emphasized Dr. Maria Belkoleva.
Modernization and the Future
In recent years, the company has focused on:
- Digitalization of logistics processes;
- Investments in infrastructure and new equipment;
- Green transformation and sustainable development;
- Investments in human capital.
The celebrations took place near the restored Lighthouse Keeper's Tower, which today serves as a museum, reminding visitors of the city's rich maritime history. With a vision for the future, the management aims to establish Burgas as a competitive European maritime hub, open both to global trade and to the city's citizens.
