The Ukrainian government successfully continues to expand its international coalition in support of its defense modernization. During the 28th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (the "Ramstein" format), it was confirmed that the so-called "Danish model" of support for Ukrainian defense will be expanded to 1.3 billion euros by 2025. The first tranche of 428 million euros will be provided by Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Norway, and Iceland. These funds will go directly to Ukraine's domestic arms production - including artillery, strike drones, missiles, and anti-tank weapons, created in Ukraine for Ukrainian warriors. Part of the funding will come from the profits of frozen Russian assets, which underlines both the moral and strategic focus of the initiative.
Another key outcome of the "Ramstein" meeting is the expansion of the electronic warfare (EW) coalition. In addition to the initiative created in April this year by Ukraine, Germany, and eight partner countries, five more countries - Belgium, Sweden, Italy, Turkey, and Estonia - have officially joined. Germany, which leads the coalition, has already created a financial mechanism for the urgent financing of equipment and services in the field of EW, which will be directly transferred to the Ukrainian armed forces. Electronic warfare is a key tool of modern warfare, which allows for the neutralization, jamming, and pre-emption of the enemy. The coalition is expected to continue growing with new international participants.
