Three-party agreement to support students in hydraulic engineering

Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Georgi Tahov, the Executive Director of "Irrigation Systems" EAD Snezhina Dineva and the Rector of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Gichka Kutova - Kamenova signed a cooperation agreement. The goal is to stimulate the training and professional realization of students in the master's program in the specialty "Hydro Construction".

Minister Tahov pointed out that the signing of the document will encourage young specialists to develop in the field of hydraulic infrastructure and contribute to the sustainable management of water resources in Bulgaria. "Irrigation Systems" EAD will conclude 14 contracts with students, based on applications submitted to UACEG. Supported students will receive a scholarship equal to the minimum wage in the country under certain academic conditions.

After successfully completing their studies, students will have the opportunity for professional realization in the system of "Irrigation Systems" EAD, being appointed to the position of "Hydraulic Engineering Construction Engineer" for a period of one year with full-time employment and remuneration corresponding to the company's standards.

The Executive Director of "Irrigation Systems" EAD Snezhina Dineva noted that the main task of the company is to increase the irrigated areas through the repair and restoration of the existing infrastructure. Assoc. Prof. Kamenova thanked Minister Tahov for the support provided, pointing out that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food is the first institution that has responded to the need to stimulate the professional realization of young people in the field of hydraulic engineering.

The document is an additional agreement to the Memorandum of Cooperation for the development of land reclamation in Bulgaria and the training of personnel signed in October 2024 between the three institutions. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Kapitanov, the Director of the "Land Reclamation" Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Eng. Nikolay Karafiziev and the Dean of the "Hydraulic Engineering Faculty" at UACEG Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Petar Filkov were also present at the official signing.
