The capital's police is taking strict safety measures before the final match for the Bulgarian Cup.

The upcoming final for the Bulgarian Cup on May 22 between the teams of PFC "Ludogorets" and PFC "CSKA" at the National Stadium "Vasil Levski" in Sofia will be secured with numerous security measures by the Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs (SDIA). Police officers will monitor the preservation of public order and traffic safety in the capital, before, during and after the match.

A special zone will be set up around the stadium, where spectators will be allowed to pass through checkpoints after thorough inspection by uniformed personnel. Strict measures will be taken to prevent persons with a ban on attending sports events, and minors will be allowed only with an adult chaperone and a pre-filled declaration.

Police officers will monitor to prevent visibly intoxicated spectators from entering, as well as the bringing in of prohibited items such as firearms, pyrotechnics, knives, batons and others. A private security company will assist in securing the stadium area, and the police will intervene if necessary.

To avoid crowding of visitors due to strict checks, SDIA urges fans to take advantage of the earlier opening of the stadium entrances at 4:30 pm. The directorate calls on fans to refrain from offenses and anti-social behavior.

In connection with the holding of the final, there may be temporary difficulties and interruptions in traffic in the central part of Sofia.
