The mayor of Stara Zagora ordered urgent inspections of the damages from the hailstorm in the villages.

The mayor of Stara Zagora, Zhivko Todorov, ordered immediate inspections of the damages from the hail in the most affected villages in the region. Teams from the municipal administration and experts from the Agency for Social Assistance (ASA) will conduct field checks on May 27, 2025. Mayors and deputy mayors will assist in the organization and access to the households in need.

ASA employees will explain to the insured residents how to prepare the necessary documents to file claims with the insurance companies. At the same time, the local people who meet the conditions will be informed about the possibilities of receiving a one-time financial assistance for the material damages from the Social Assistance Directorate. Social workers will distribute the application forms on site.

The one-time assistance for natural disasters is provided to families whose homes have been damaged and this disrupts their normal way of life. It helps to cover the costs of restoring the homes and ensuring normal living conditions. "There are a number of procedures and regulatory requirements that must be met for the provision of assistance. We will assist as much as possible, while adhering to all the rules," assured the Secretary of the Stara Zagora Municipality, Nikolai Dikov.

Meanwhile, due to the passing storm, a partial state of emergency was declared for three villages in the Novozagorsko region.
