Senior Commissioner Boyan Raev, who has held the position of Deputy Director of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) since 2023, has been reassigned to a senior management position by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs Daniel Mitov. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Major General Miroslav Rashkov, presented the new head of the service at a ceremony at the GDCOC building today.
"Boyan Raev has been an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for 29 years, 15 of which have been in the GDCOC. I count on him to maintain the pace of work that everyone knows him for," said the Secretary General to the employees. "I know what you are capable of and I hope for teamwork to continue the high results of the ministry's most elite service," he added.
In turn, Major General Boyan Raev thanked for the trust and presented the priority activities, including the fight against drug trafficking and smuggling, counterterrorism, human trafficking, and money laundering. "Our responsibility is great. The work will be open and at a fast pace. I will stand before you, but also behind you," he added.
The former Director of the GDCOC, Yavor Serafimov, has been reassigned as the Deputy Director of the General Directorate "National Police".
Boyan Raev was born in 1976 in the city of Sevlievo. He has extensive professional experience, having worked in various structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs before joining the GDCOC in 2010. Over the years, he has held management positions in departments related to the fight against terrorism, organized crime, and other serious crimes. Raev has been awarded numerous honors and awards from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and international partner organizations for his merits.
