Deputy Minister of Education and Science Tanya Mihaylova emphasized that the true mission of the Bulgarian school is to work with young people not only as students, but as future citizens who will build a better society. This philosophy was at the heart of the "House of Causes" festival held at Largo in Sofia.
The event brought together independent artists, Bulgarian designers, producers of organic and bio products, publishers, foundations and non-governmental organizations, who presented their social causes. The funds raised will be donated to charitable initiatives, including the treatment of 5-year-old Deya, who is fighting a rare form of brain tumor.
During the festival, career guidance meetings were also organized, in which prominent professionals such as teachers, doctors, firefighters and police officers introduced students to their work and the opportunities it offers. According to Tanya Mihaylova, working with children and young people in this direction will help them make an informed professional choice.
The Deputy Minister announced that the creation of a National Center for Career Guidance is planned, which will assist students in choosing their education and career path - a change envisaged in the amendments to the Pre-School and School Education Act proposed by the Ministry of Education and Science.
In addition to the career presentations, the festival included educational sessions on safety and first aid, dance performances by students and a charity auction with donated items from celebrities.
The "House of Causes" festival is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Justice and the Sofia Municipality, as part of the efforts to turn education into a platform for social change.
