Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nevena Lazarova opened an event where the National Company Industrial Zones (NCIZ) presented its project for a Regional Center for Digital Solutions and Innovation. The Center will be built on the territory of the Sofia-Bojurishte Industrial Park and will receive funding of over 6 million levs under the "Scientific Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation" Program.
Lazarova emphasized that the development and modernization of industrial zones are key priorities, as they are the key to attracting new high-tech investments in Bulgaria. According to her, the country has all the necessary conditions to establish itself as a technology hub and a leader in the industries of the future.
The new Regional Center will include modern digital infrastructure, including a virtual reality laboratory, which will allow 3D visualizations and testing of products and machines before investment. The project will be implemented within 36 months and aims to support the digital transformation of businesses and increase the technological potential of industrial enterprises in the region.
NCIZ Executive Director Angel Tanev noted that the Regional Center for Digital Solutions and Innovation is part of the company's long-term strategy to modernize the industrial environment in Bulgaria. It will be a place where business, science and technology will collaborate to create real solutions and sustainable growth.
The event was held in partnership with the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (UCTM) and brought together representatives of government institutions, the academic community, the industrial sector and the media.
